Everyone can love.
There is research that all humans are capable of love.
Who and when they love is a different matter.
How do we know this..?
All humans are born with a limbic system which as Lewis et al. say, is a part of the brain that reaches out for emotional attachment. This gives everyone an urge to come together in search of attaching relationships.
The limbic system is part of our mammalian DNA, and we find the same kind of attachment in other mammals such as monkeys, dogs, cats and mice.
Regarding loving itself
When anyone loves, they value their beloved immensely because they are emotionally attached and emotionally committed to them.
This is true for all kinds of love, not just romantic.
Where they choose, people love their mother and father like this, and their children, friends, objects, self and God for those who believe.
When I say choose, I mean:
through a relationship with a beloved, you become so emotionally attached that separation negatively affects your mind, so emotionally committed that you worry about their welfare, and so emotionally invested that you bestow value upon them beyond all worth.
Because of these emotions, you realise your beloved is good for you, they meet your needs, and they are in themselves good.
Knowing these things supports your choice to be there for your beloved wherever and whenever while holding onto them zealously.
Considering the universal propensity to come together to create attaching relationships is real. And how such attachments create emotional commitment and bestowed value, followed by assured commitments to be there wherever and whenever with zealous possession of your beloveds, the answer is a resounding yes, everyone can love.
